MARC 0.3 (MySQL, Apache, Railo, and ColdFusion On Wheels)

  • smaller download 588.86 mb
  • url rewriting
  • Virtual Box Guest Additions
  • readme.txt in the zip

Description

The developer should be able to use Wheels without any setup/configuration except for the database. Start the virtual machine instance (vmi), fire up Eclipse and Firefox inside the vmi and code immediately with CFEclipse.

Future/Help

  • Accessing headless
  • Apache/Resin needs to be reworked for accessing externally. If someone wants to help that is awesome. I tried but got lost in the apache/resin configuration and figuring out a headless vm ip address after it started.

You should have a look at turnkey linux. They have a nice headless setup with an ajax based ssh webclient and webmin to administer it.

the ajax ssh webclient is "shellinabox"

Looks like Turnkey http://www.turnkeylinux.org/ is based off Ubuntu 8.04. I updated MARC and am now using Ubuntu 10.04 and selecting minimal for virtual machines.

The interface you are describing is compelling.
