DNS record builder
Put together DNS records without knowing zone-file syntax by heart. Choose a record type, fill in the fields and get a ready-made BIND line — including SPF, DKIM and DMARC records for e-mail authentication. The tool only checks syntax and never queries DNS.
How to use
- 1Choose the record type; the hint shows what the value should look like.
- 2Enter the name (@ for the zone root), the value and, for MX or SRV, the priority.
- 3Optionally add the domain to get fully qualified names.
- 4Copy the BIND line or the separate fields for your DNS provider's control panel.
The zone root, i.e. the bare domain itself (example.com). Without a domain the zone line keeps names relative; with a domain they are written in full with a trailing dot.
SPF: mechanisms or domains, e.g. mx include:_spf.google.com ~all (a bare domain becomes include:). DMARC: a policy and a report address, e.g. quarantine [email protected]. DKIM: the selector in Name and the public key in Value.
A single DNS string holds at most 255 bytes. Longer values, such as 2048-bit DKIM keys, are written as several quoted strings in one record, which resolvers join back together.
No. It only builds the record and validates its syntax in your browser; nothing is looked up.
