How to use
- 1Type or paste the text.
- 2All hashes update as you type.
- 3Click a hash to copy it.
Hashes depend on the exact bytes. Line endings (LF or CRLF), a trailing newline or another text encoding change the result; this tool hashes the text as UTF-8 with LF line breaks.
SHA-256 or stronger for integrity and security. MD5 and SHA-1 have known collisions and suit checksums only; CRC-32 detects accidental corruption only.
Subresource Integrity: put it in the integrity attribute of a script or link tag, and the browser refuses the file if it was changed.
No. MD5, SHA-1 and CRC-32 are computed in JavaScript, SHA-2 with your browser's Web Crypto API.
