How to use
- 1Choose v4 or v7 and how many.
- 2Set the format options.
- 3Press Generate; click a UUID to copy it, or copy the whole list.
v4 is fully random (122 random bits). v7 starts with a millisecond timestamp, so values sort by creation time, which keeps database indexes compact when used as primary keys.
In practice no: with 122 random bits you need about 2.7 × 10^18 v4 values for a 50% chance of a single collision.
Yes, with crypto.getRandomValues in your browser; nothing is sent or stored.
